My Masterclass at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017

Every season, Lakmé Fashion Week takes pride in bringing a new wave of fresh faces to the forefront. And with winter/festive 2017 upon us, the organizers at this platform have not only given up-and-coming designers the opportunity to showcase their talent but have seriously raised the fashion stakes for models too.

This time around, they’ve partnered with TRESemmé for their  model hunt at St. Regis, Mumbai. And over 150 aspiring Indian and International models  showcased their talent here. After three competitive rounds to walk for the approaching season, only four contestant Nicole Padival, Daman Brar, Kiyara and Roshmitha

Harimurthy – made the cut. For the very first time, these aspirants were given a chance to compete and bag a contact with the international leader in talent discovery and model management – IMG Models. The judges on this panel were – actor Kriti Sanon, designer Manish Malhotra, fashion choreographer Lubna Adams,

Head of Fashion at IMG Reliance – Jaspreet Chandok and Head of Innovation, Lakmé- Purnima Lamba and IMG International model scouts -Victoria Da Silva and Luis Domingo. Interestingly, along with the Lakmé makeup expert – Sandhya Shekar, I was given a chance to host a masterclass for the winners which I was more than happy to

be a part of. While she gave them a lowdown on beauty, I shared my tips about fashion, style and the importance of social media, of course. Also, here I’d like to add that I started blogging 4 years ago and even back then when I approached Lakmé Fashion Week for street style, backstage access, shows, designers, and more, they

were very forthcoming. Over the years,  I’ve had an active connect with them – from hosting another masterclass to walking the runway, and for me, as a platform they’ve always been open to new ideas. Moreover, during my journey, I feel blessed to have travelled across the world to attend fashion shows but frankly – there’s no better place quite like Lakmé Fashion Week!
