The sun and the city chaos have us on our toes 24×7. So let’s take a day to un-live the madness and mayhem and get by the summer heat. Let’s celebrate International Yoga Day today.

Taking a breather is essential for everyone- with our crazy schedules and deadlines at work, us city dwellers end up finding ourselves tangled in a web of stress and panic more often than we’d like.
The US National Library of Medicine posted a thesis on therapeutic effects of yoga on the human mind and body and this is what they had to say: “Regular practice of yoga promotes strength, endurance, flexibility and facilitates characteristics of friendliness, compassion, and greater self-control, while cultivating a sense of calmness and well-being”. According to this journal, yoga also “promotes recovery from and treatment of addiction, reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain..”.

I went around town trying to find some peace despite the madness with my friend and instructor, Anshuka Parwani. The result of capturing something I love as much as Yoga was rejuvenating and refreshing, captured perfectly on my iPhone 7.
