Boho Luxe Noir!
It’s a well-known fact that the city of Kolkata exudes a certain old world charm in a contemporary way. Similarly, that’s the vibe of New Delhi based duo – Hemant and Nandita’s works of art. Bringing a fresh twist to luxury fashion, they incorporated tradition with modern styles to create polished silhouettes for the free spirited cosmopolitan woman who is unafraid to experiment.
Having found followers around the world, their approach for Fall 2016 was all about designing versatile, structured pieces with a Victorian feel. Besides being wearables, the line is elegant and their signature bohemian vibe has been reimagined. Moreover, it’s the gracefully feminine appeal that makes their designs lust worthy. However, this is not the first time that I have worn their apparels.
For my Maybelline experience in New York, I had chosen a statement bomber jacket from them. From there on, my love for their pieces has only grown. So, in my creative space, I have styled myself by mixing, matching and layering styles. For the same, I picked an embellished trench coat, pencil skirt, blouses etc and teamed them with a leather jacket and boots.
Every piece from them, had a life of its own and could be easily transformed. Without looking flashy, each look has a certain element of glamour with some shimmer and shine. Revolving around chic bling, their opulent fabrics such as brocades, jacquard lurex, embroidered tweed, shimmer chiffon looked so rich. While reminding me of some dark floral drama, the textures oozed luxury.
I am so in love with the entire color story which included muted hues, gold, among others. And while tapping into the grunge of Kolkata, I strolled around the streets of the city in their silhouettes with moody blooms. Feeling a sense of easy elegance their pieces perfectly reflected my sensibilities of what street style is all about.
