White -The New Pop Of Color At Weddings
More often than not, the color white at Indian weddings is considered to be a big no-no as opposed to splashes of vibrant, eye-catching hues. Many say it implies negative connotations on such auspicious days. But the point is, what’s your take on this? Well, if you ask me, I feel that at first wearing white from head to toe can seem a bit daunting but trust me, going against the grain is a risk totally worth taking. Only because nothing says dreamy quite like a soft, muted palette.
Classic and peaceful, shades of white, ivory and so on not only symbolize purity but have also repeatedly stood the test of time. Plus, they’re versatile enough to fit into the mould of any wedding style. And all you need to do is play around with different textures, prints, subtle details etc on your outfits to achieve dynamic looks that’ll easily conjure up different moods too. So, here are 3 winning ways I’ve worn white for weddings –
To get yourself ready for this function, look no further than designer Tarun Tahiliani’s suit. A colorful burst of floral motifs is spread all throughout the silhouette which tends to give it that much desired fresh, playful edge. For a put together yet totally effortless feel, I’ve worn a belt over my outfit and styled it just the way I like. As for my hairstyle, I opted for beach waves and took the minimal route for accessories. Case in point, my very own Om ring!
Clearly, I can’t seem to get enough of designer Tarun Tahiliani’s work and this is another outfit from him. For a vision in white feel, I wore a gathered lehenga and top that was held together with sheer fabric and an embellished neckline which gave my look a modern spin. FYI, such details on it could easily trick you into thinking that it’s an off shoulder one and create an illusion of the neckline being a separate piece altogether! In case of jewels, my Begani Jewels bracelet elevated things further and the intricate cutwork throughout my silhouette evoked a certain essence of fantasy & romance.
When it comes to narrowing down a look for such an affair, goes without saying that diamonds jewels with hints of pearls paired with an all-white ensemble are a match made in heaven. Which is why I teamed a stunning Begani jewels neckpiece with designer Tarun Tahiliani’s floor-length ensemble with chikankari, cutwork and so on. Such a pairing gives my entire look a timeless feel of exquisiteness and an ethereal vibe.
Winding up, after envisioning my looks, I styled these in a way to make them my own. And all along I kept things totally true to my style. So, from here on out, whether you’re the bride-to-be or a wedding goer, you can easily allow my looks to drive home the point and incorporate the color white into your wedding wear wardrobe.
