The Modern Day Fairy
It’s funny how sometimes a brand can paint a picture in your head, or tell a beautiful story just with a name, a colour or a product. And when you love your little luxuries as much as I do, you can’t help but get completely immersed in, and inspired by these very stories.
Eau des Merveilles Bleue, the new fragrance by Hermès, translated as ‘Miracle Water’ couldn’t be a more apt name for a perfume. Beautifully packaged in a blue tinted, pebble shaped bottle, with a spray of silver stars on it, it not only looks like a dressing table must-have, but also smells like one! Unlike many other perfumes from the brand, this one’s a blend of aquatic and woody notes, followed by subtle hints of patchouli. The fragrance has a youthfulness about it that I love. Although I feel it makes for a great day-time fragrance because of its freshness, I would personally love to use it in the evening.
I created 2 looks inspired by the fragrance, that are my interpretations of the Eau des Merveilles Bleue. Shades of blue, being the key inspiration, I’ve tried to recreate the subtlety and softness of the fragrance through each of them.
